Description

The Artifact has been there since before time began and it would have been there until after time ended. 'Would have', because the sorceress in red has other plans in mind.

This one was quite some work. Hours of rendering, about 100 layers in photoshop. But it is done. It's an other entry for my 'Red Sorceress' universe, I hope many more will come and flesh out the story.

EDIT: Yay, another DD! I am totally happy :D Thanks so much to Bluenight01 and  cosmicbound

I wanted to leave more than a comment about this artwork. I'm new to this genre so I'm not so sure how much my opinion would count but there is a lot to say about this particular piece.

Vision: When I first seen this piece I was like "Wow what a nice inner core concept". It was't until I zoomed in that my mind was completely blow away! EXTREMELY detailed! I have faved a lot of "inner-core" artwork but none of this magnitude. It is very realistic and you find yourself just staring at the different textures inside and outside of the planet. Then just when I thought my mind can't be blown any further I take notice of the subtle core on the gas planet! Who does that?? HE DOES! Honestly I haven't seen a core put on a gas planet before. It's make me feel there is a story to be told there and I personally would love to see a separate scene with that same gas planet but with more visual impact. So all in all, ZOOM IN so you can get the real eye-candy of this piece!

Originality: Though the concept may not be "original", the detailing and rendering is still a treat for anyone who is new or old to this genre. I know it must have taken hours to render and refine this scene. It was definitely time well spend to make this artwork stand out from other similar concept.

Technique: As I stated before I am new this genre so I can not really say whether or not this a "unique" technique. But whatever he did to make it so realistic has me sold. Again, I've seen many inner core artwork but none as realistic as this. Perhaps a tut one day or walk-through (hint hint lol) to show us noobs how to make a realistic core <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/e/e…" width="23" height="19" alt=":excited:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="509" title="OMG! I can't contain my excitement!"/>

Impact: What can I say that I haven't already? He is definitely one of my most admired cosmo artists. I love many of his pieces but this is by far his Magnum Opus.
